Time and again, Cooper split-to-the-shaft bearings have proved up to the challenge of heavy industrial applications, which means they are the perfect solution for stacker-reclaimers.
Installing and servicing bearings between the bucket wheel and drive can be extremely difficult. And this doesn’t simply create a problem for your engineers. The downtime also has a serious impact on profitability.
The Cooper split roller bearing is the ideal solution. Its unique, split to the shaft construction means it is easy to assemble and easy to change out in the field, even in the most cramped and inaccessible locations. Large couplings or gearboxes are simply left in place while the bearing is fitted, saving crucial time and maximizing profitability.
Other benefits:
One of the reasons Cooper bearings are able to withstand harsh industrial conditions is the fact that the seals are contained in a swiveling inner housing or cartridge, mounted to the pillow block like a ball and socket joint. This means they stay concentric with the shaft, so sealing integrity is maintained even when – as is so often the case – the alignment is imperfect.
Bucket wheel shaft bearings - which can be exposed to extreme weather conditions and heavy contamination from spilled material – are protected with a double seal.
Split to the shaft bearings offer complete freedom when designing and arranging motors, gearboxes, couplings and framework.
And if you decide to swap in Cooper bearings to an existing machine, we can manufacture bespoke housings so the fit is perfect.
